Uniqlo + Marvel illustration

The theme for the 2018 Uniqlo T-shirt Grand Prix was Marvel. There are tons of characters from the Marvel universe but I wanted to create something with guardians of the galaxy. My first process was to use my iPad to build some sketches, and I landed a solid idea of building a Totem Pole.

After building the mock up, I wanted to better understand the design of the characters that would be part of the totem, and with the use of Photoshop I was able to develop this illustration.

With the use of Illustrator I started designing the characters and after some time playing with the look I developed this basic geometry designs that work really well together.
